September 9th & 10th
The day
A change of plans: September 9th is the King's funeral, and the city center closes around it. So the daytime is yours, the party starts at 16:00, and we officially get married the morning after.
The morning after

Rådhuset (City Hall)
Thursday, September 10th. We get married. The room only takes about 30 people, so let us know if you want to be there. If we overflow, come anyway, you will just be celebrating with us from right outside. More details to come.

Dress like you're going to a party in a ballroom. Because you are. No black tie needed (unless you feel like it). Have fun, wear something fancy.

The 9th
The center is closed to cars from 06:00 to 21:00 for the funeral, and it will be crowded. Everyone enters on foot through police entry points: bring valid ID, expect a search, and give yourself plenty of extra time. Come in from the north, the same side as the hotel, and do not plan a route that crosses Karl Johans gate, it will be closed. Read how the city works that day and check the entry point map before you head out.
Getting there
Everything is in the middle of Oslo. Rådhuset is by Nationaltheatret station, Hotel Bristol by Stortinget, and they are a ten minute walk apart. Skip the car if you can, downtown parking is scarce and pricey.
Weather
Early September in Oslo: usually somewhere between 11 and 17 degrees. Sun if we are lucky, a shower if we are not. Bring a layer for the evening.
